Complaints

Do you have a complaint? Don’t keep it to yourself.

Discuss your complaint with your midwife
It’s important that you feel comfortable with your midwife. Being pregnant is already stressful enough. That’s why we do everything we can to provide good support for you and your baby. Do you have questions? Doubts? Are you dissatisfied with something? Tell us. Preferably as soon as possible, but also if you’ve been struggling with it for a while. We’ll talk about it together and try to resolve it quickly. Maybe we can clear up a misunderstanding. Or reassure you. Or find a way to work together that makes you feel more comfortable.
We’d be happy to schedule a separate appointment with you. That way, we’ll have enough time to talk. If you find it difficult to have the conversation, you can bring someone you trust to the meeting.

Involve a complaints officer
Do you want to know more about your rights or need advice? Or do you want to discuss your complaint with someone else first? Or would you prefer to have someone help you file a complaint?

Then contact the complaints officer.
The complaints officers are impartial. They will discuss with you what you are dissatisfied with and what you hope to achieve with your complaint. They’ll advise you on what you can do. They’ll also help you have a conversation with us if you find it difficult. Or help you write a letter about the complaint. The complaints officer can help both you and us find a solution together. Everything you tell the complaints officer will remain confidential.

Contact with the complaints officer
Your midwife is affiliated with the CBKZ (Central Bureau for Complaints Management in Healthcare).
Then contact a complaints officer via klachtverloskunde.nl

The midwife will try, possibly together with the complaints officer, to resolve your complaint within six weeks. During this period, you will receive a message from us informing you about what has been done regarding your complaint.

Submit a dispute to the Disputes Committee for Midwifery
If you are unable to resolve the issue with the midwife and the mediation of the complaints officer, you can submit your complaint to the Disputes Committee for Midwifery. This independent body investigates and assesses whether your complaint is justified. It will issue a binding decision on this matter.
