Prenatal Screening - NIPT, 13-week and 20-week Ultrasound

During your pregnancy, you can choose prenatal screening. This is an examination that allows you to learn more about your baby's health. These tests are voluntary, and it is up to you to decide whether you want to have them performed.

What tests are included in prenatal screening?Prenatal screening consists of the following options:

The NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test): A blood test that examines whether there are indications of a chromosomal abnormality in the baby, such as Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, or Patau syndrome.
The 13-week ultrasound: A detailed ultrasound performed around the 13th week of your pregnancy. It looks for any major physical abnormalities in the baby.
The 20-week ultrasound: This ultrasound takes place around the 20th week of your pregnancy and provides a detailed view of the baby's development. It checks for physical abnormalities and the growth of your baby.
