Giving birth

You probably already formed an idea during your pregnancy about how and where you want to give birth. If you have had a regular pregnancy then you can decide yourself whether you want to  give birth at home, at the Birth center or as an outpatient at the hospital. All options are equally safe and you will be supported by us. It is important to choose a location where you feel safe and comfortable. This will enable you to relax more easily, which will have a positive effect on the contractions. If you choose an outpatient delivery or a delivery at the Birth center , we will almost always visit you at home first before we decide to go to the hospital. However you don’t have to choose beforehand. It is possible to change your mind even during the delivery.

We support births at home, at the Sint Franciscus Gasthuis and Birth centre Sophia.
